Adding a platform in AppStudio for Android tablet

Now that some new phones (such as HTC One) have a 1920x1080 resolution, I created a device platform to have larger icons for 1080 screen width devices. However, the app cannot seem to apply the icons correctly. AppServer/AppStudio can't seem to send out the correct icon since the Android Large (width of 480) also gets the X Large icons despite the different widths.

    Hi David,

Unfortunately, at this time Verivo does not officially support Android Tablets. It is currently being evaluated to be certified and supported in a future release. That being said, you should be able to get our app to display properly on your tablet, however it just won't be able to use Android tablet features - it will use Android smartphone features and functionality.

I looked at your platform definition for your Android and it is incorrect. The 1920x1080 resolution is not available as an option in the AppStudio Platform Manager's Screen Width and Screen Height pull-down menus. Therefore, you need to manually type those values in. Then, set your Device Idiom to "Tablet", as shown below.

After doing the above steps, and your icons look like they are the correct size, then you are all set. If they still appear incorrect, then you need to make sure you are using the appropriate sized icon images in the Image Resources. When new platforms are added in the Platform Manager, those platforms will automatically be added as columns in the Image Resources, allowing you to assign images to them or use the default image. In AppStudio, click the Image Resources icon on your toolbar and scroll to the right until you see your Android tablet platform, as shown below.

You may need to add new icon images that are larger to to accommodate the larger tablet screen size. I hope the suggestions I have provided help you.

    Thank you,
