Is it possible to send a pre-populated text (see details)?

Is it possible to have it set up so that when a user pushes a button a text message is created and sent off in the background?  Or is there some other method of pre-populating and sending a text automatically?

Thanks,

Seb

    Hi Seb,

Yes, this configurable and is mentioned in our Configuration Tips and Tricks KB: http://support.verivo.com/entries/21147302-configuration-tips-tricks

You will need two controls on your screen called SMSBody and SMSNumber. If you have a button whos action is set to SMS these controls will prefill this information into your native sms client on your device.

    Hi Scott,

So I tried that out and found that:

On iPhone it successfully loads SMSBody into the body, but does not load the SMSNumber.

On BB the button with the SMS action does not even display on the screen

However if I set a text control to the SMS action, then whatever value that text control has will be populated as the recipient regardless of SMSNumber.  So that works for both BB and iPhone - but on iPhone it auto-populates the message and then waits for me to hit send and on the BB it automatically fires off the message as soon as I touch that text control...

Do you know how I could get it to automtaically send the message on iPhone as well?  I tried setting up a menu option for SMS and then making it action only but that doesn't seem to do anything (presumably it's not loading the recipient) and I tried setting a target screen for the click-to-SMS but it seems to ignore that entirely and do the same thing.

    Thanks,

    Seb

    Thanks,

    Seb

    Hi Seb,

Try setting the button with action of SMS to have a target control of SMSNumber. This should prefill the SMSNumber on your device with the correct number. I believe only BB is able to send the SMS in the background and for iPhone and Android you have to manually hit the send button on the native SMS client. Let me look further into this and get back to you.

Ah yeah, setting the target control did the trick.

    Thanks!
